WIETS SAFARIS WAS ESTABLISHED IN 1975 WHEN MR WIETS
BOTES BOUGHT HIS FIRST PROPERTY OF 4,000 ACRES. AS THE
ANIMAL NUMBERS INCREASED, HE BOUGHT MORE PROPERTY,
AND THE RANCH NOW CONSISTS OF 15,000 ACRES.
THE FIRST BABY RHINO IN 100 YEARS IN THE FREE STATE WAS
BORN ON OUR RANCH IN 1984. WIETS BOTES WAS HONORED
WITH A GOLD MEDAL IN 1983 AS THE PERSON WHO
CONTRIBUTED THE MOST TOWARDS FAUNA AND FLORA IN THE
FREE STATE.
