Great Fishing...

"Black Bear Lodge" is situated approx. 110 miles north of Ottawa and 180 miles north of Montreal. 

Michael or Catherine Thibault will be your master guides.. Bear hunting is my only occupation.  We spend a lot of time scouting and putting out new baits.  We run approximately 200 baits.  My guides check and rebait regularly all the sites. Every year,  there is a lot of real big bears killed.  Hunters hunt from tree stands or blinds. Shots are 30 - 40 yards or closer. For bowhunters,  I have stands specially placed for shots 20 yards or closer.  I hunt exclusive territory inside the La Verendrye Wildlife Reserve and also new area touching the reserve.  This has doubled the size of my territory.  The reserve has never been hunted before by an outfitter that specialized in bear hunting.  It was created in 1939 and is over 100 miles long and it is a paradise for black bear.  They have been hunting moose by lottery for many years,  but never did hunt bears with outfitters.  We got this area because of our reputation and because we specialize in black bear hunting.

The fishing is also very good for pike,  walleye and trout.  Hunters fish in the morning and hunt bear in the evening. Fishing is done from 16' aluminum boats with 15 hp motors;  gas and oil is inlcluded with the hunt.

The guide personally skins your bear and cleans your fish which are then frozen.

The beautiful lodge is fully equipped and situated on the shore of the Big Baskatong Reservoir (1800 miles of shoreline.) For entertainment,  there is a pool and ping-pong table in the living room.

The hunt includes 3 excellent homemade meals a day with a terrific view ofthe Baskatong Reservoir only a few yards away.  A bar is also at your disposal.

Our price for bear hunting is $1,375.00 US + taxes.  This price includes:  6 days hunting & fishing.  Arrival Sunday, departure Saturday.  Hunting over active baits (meat); 3 meals a day; Lodging (Daily Room Services);  Skinning and taking care of hide and meat;  Fishing, Boats, Motors and Gas.
