Presents: NEW MEXICO
"Whitehorse Guide Service" Hunt with Stan and Steve Armstrong out of Deming, New Mexico. Specializing in Trophy Mule Deer and Antelope... We hunt over 20,000 acres of prime mule deer country on a private ranch. You will see many animals, as they are not disturbed by outside hunting pressure. Elevation on the ranch is about 5,300'. Terrain is rough and rocky rimrock country with oak brush, cedar and juniper trees. Deer with 30" antler spread are a possibility. All hunts require a 50% non-refundable deposit when booking your hunt. Balance is due 45 days prior to hunt start date. We like to take a maximum of 5 to 6 hunters per hunt, as this gives us a chance to give each hunter more personal attention. Book early for the hunt dates you desire. Bow Hunts: Bow hunts run the 1st through the 15th of January each year. Hunts are divided into two 7 day hunts. Either the 1st through the 7th or 9th through the 15th. Bow hunts are for 7 days and are $2,000 with a $500 trophy fee due upon harvest of an animal. This hunt is during the peak of the rut in Southern New Mexico. Rifle Deer Hunts: Exact dates vary from year to year on all deer hunts. 1st hunt starts the first Monday in November and runs through Wednesday; 3 days total. 2nd hunt starts on Friday of that same week and runs Friday through Sunday; 3 days total. 3rd hunt starts on Wednesday of the following week and runs Wednesday through Sunday; 5 days total. Muzzle Loader Hunts: Hunts normally run the last few days of September and 1st few days of October; 8 days total. Our hunts are split up into two 4 day hunts. Additional days may be added to your hunt for $200.00 per day. Antelope Hunts: We receive one to two landowner permits each year for antelope. These permits depend on the late spring antelope survey by the G & F Department. Call Old South Adventures and have them check on the availability and dates. B&C Pronghorn bucks are a definite possibility on this ranch. Trophy Lion Hunts: If you're interested, please inquire through Old South Adventures for more information and dates. Outfitter Supplies: We supply all meals, wall tents with stoves, hot showers and trophy care, including havingyour game taken to the nearest locker plant for processing. We supply one guide per 2 hunters and guarantee 100 % effort in assisting you to your goal of taking a deer you can be proud of. Our success ration has been near 100% and unless you are looking for an excetionally large head of record book quality, you can be assured of several chances at nice trophy animals. Physical fitness and marksmanship play an important part in success ratios. Hunter Supplies: Bring only personal gear; rifle or bow; sleeping bag, binoculars, camera, etc. All hunters should book their airplane flights into El Paso, Texas. Hunters will be responsible for transportation to Deming, NM (approx. 100 miles). We will provide transportation from Deming to the ranch where we hunt. For those who wish to fly their own planes, there is a local airport in Deming. Arrangements can be made to pick you up there. Be sure to bring a "flat-shooting" rifle that your are very familiar with and confident in. Shooting distances of 300 yards are common, so "PRACTICE!" All hunting will be done from a 4 wheel drive vehicle, 4 wheeler or on foot. All deer taken will be of trophy class. We consider a trophy deer to have a 22" spread better. Hunters need to arrive the day before the hunt starts to purchase their license and be taken to the ranch. Hunting licenses can be purchased across the counter in several sporting goods stores in Deming. Non-Resident licenses cost $180.00 and are the responsibility of each hunter. Supper will be served the evening before your hunt starts. Hunters should plan on leaving the evening of your last day or the next morning, which ever is more convenient.
