"Old South Adventures" has no control
over the quality or quantity of the services any client may or may not receive from any
guide / outfitter it represents. Nor does "Old South Adventures" have
any control over the extent of safety precautions that may or may not exist; or
security or personal effects / belongings on any hunt, outdoor excursion, trip, that
may be booked. Thus, "Old South Adventures" denies
any legal liability or responsibility to provide any refunds or compensation, monetary or
otherwise; Or, reimbursement to person(s) that may encounter any such loss, or
injuries, while participating on any hunt, fishing trip, outdoor vacation, photo
safari, or excursion that was booked or referred by "Old South Adventures."
Any and all claims of this nature must be directed to the guides/outfitters
themselves. It is a prerequisite that all clients booking a hunt (trip) through
"Old South Adventures" agrees to these stipulations and understands that we do
NOT have any control over what may/may not occur once you arrive at your destination on a
hunt, etc.
"Old South Adventures" WILL make
this commitment to you... We WILL do everything we can to make you fully aware of
all the circumstances involved with any trip you book through us. If you encounter
problems or unexpected circumstances, we want to know about them. If the
guide/outfitter cannot provide an adequate explanation for your complaint(s), losses,
etc., or fails or refuses to correct any shortcomings, oversights,
misrepresentations, etc., "Old South Adventures" will
strongly consider terminating it's agreement with the guide / outfitter and will not
continue to represent and / or recommend them if they fail or refuse to take corrective
action.
"Old South Adventures" will provide
prospective clients with the means to contact guides / outfitters. It is very highly
recommended that clients do contact and communicate with guides to obtain and confirm all
pertinent details about the hunt, etc. that is being booked. Special
attention should be given to all details of what the trip provides for the quoted price.
And, notes should be made summarizing any and all conversations that promise
there are "no additional fees or hidden charges" involved after your
arrival. Poor communications between client (hunter) and guide is the first
step toward having a "bad" experience with the guide. "Old
South Adventures" will attempt to inform you of all details of any
"hunt / trip" you may choose to book. But, again, we have no
control what a person in a strange, foreign, far away land may try to do once
he gets you there on his "turf." We stongly advise all our clients
to be very much aware that a variety of situations can arise with different individuals,
and that you should be prepared to deal with them in a "firm" manner and
not be "coerced" or "buffaloed" into paying extra fees that weren't
completely explained, and that you agreed to in advance of finalizing the booking of
the trip.
"Old South Adventures" does NOT
offer anything such as a "Guaranteed" hunt. That is,
there is NO "GUARANTEE" that you will be successful in harvesting an
animal, or have the opportunity to harvest an animal, on any specific hunt
that has a preset length or duration of time / days. We DO have a
limited number of hunts that are billed as "Guaranteed" hunts. These
"Guaranteed" hunts usually allow the hunter to hunt for an unlimited period of
time for one "base" upfront price. Usually, the hunter may continue
to hunt until they harvest the particular animal they are hunting for. In some
cases, this agreement may even carry over from year to year. In this
respect, these type hunts are "Guaranteed" hunts, as the hunter can
hunt as long as he needs to or wishes to, in order to accomplish his/her hunting
goal.
Additional Notes:
We at "Old South Adventures" will "NOT"
continue to represent or recommend any guide / outfitter that misrepresents his services
or products! Specifically, if you (the hunter, etc.) encounter a
situation where a guide we represented tries to apply "extra (unannounced)
charges" for services that were not specifically defined to you before your booked
the hunt, PLEASE simply "REFUSE" to pay these "extras" and
notify "Old South Adventures" immediately upon your return from the trip.
Some specific examples are if a guide informs you that there will be
additional (unannounced) charges for "missed shots," "wounded
& lost animals," or a "Trophy Fee" and you were not informed of
this prior to booking the hunt. If you WERE informed and agreed to these or
other specific conditions beforehand, then, you must honor your agreement with
the guide. BUT, you are NOT obligated to agree to these types of
conditions after you have booked the hunt, and/or after you have arrived on a hunt
in order to receive the services you have paid for. And, again,
we encourage you to refuse to do so! It is a very unethical
practice for any guide to adopt this sort of practice / procedure! But, some
guides that you may deal with, specially in remote areas outside the USA, can
be very unscrupulous and unbusinesslike. Some seem to think that they have you
"over a barrel", so to speak, once you arrive on their
"turf." DON'T be so naive and gullible as to think that you
have to succumb to such treatment. If something like this happens to
you, we at "Old South Adventures" want to know about it "as soon as
possible" (ASAP) after your retun home. Even if it happens with a guide we DON'T
represent, we'd like to know for our own future references. We advise
you NOT to deal with any guide, whether it is one we represent or not,
that tries to apply these sort of conditions to any hunt your are interested in.
There's just too many good, reputable guides and outfitters out there to put up with
this sort of treatment.
